Der Titel des dritten BASWOD Albums ist eine Aufforderung: „I Need You To Pencil In The Rest“. Wäre das Album ein Malbuch, dann wäre jede der elf Aufnahmen eine Seite voller Umrisse. Man erkennt teilweise ganze Geschichten bis ins kleinste Detail, manchmal ein Sammelsurium an verschiedenen Motiven, oder auch die Schönheit der Symmetrie wie in einem Mandala. Dominik Linders Aufnahmen von Klavier, Gitarre, Bass, Schlagzeug, Cello aber auch Tischen, Flaschen und Holzböden haben Ton für Ton die Seiten gefüllt. Während der Aufnahmen wurden bewusst Fehler zugelassen – so macht sich Linder das Momenthafte zu Nutzen und gibt dem Zufall Mitspracherecht. Darin spiegelt sich auch der Inhalt der Texte. Es geht um Identität, den Blick in Vergangenheit und in die Zukunft und der Frage, was von einem selbst übrigbleibt, wenn man alles Äußere außen lässt. Ein Kratzen, ein Räuspern, ein perfekter Übergang, dann doch wieder ein Bruch. An der Spontanität der Aufnahmen und der Akzeptanz der Zufälle zeigt sich vor allem eins: Es sind die Brüche, in denen man sich erkennt. Das ist zumindest seine Geschichte, you need to pencil in the rest.

The title of the third BASWOD album is an invitation: "I Need You To Pencil In The Rest". If the album were a coloring book, each of the eleven recordings would be a page full of outlines. Sometimes you can recognize whole stories down to the smallest detail, sometimes a hodgepodge of different motives, or the beauty of symmetry like in a mandala. Dominik Linder's recordings of piano, guitar, bass, drums, cello but also tables, bottles and wooden floors filled the pages tone by tone. During the recordings, mistakes were deliberately allowed - this is how Linder makes use of the momentary and gives chance a say. This also reflects the content of the texts. It's about identity, a look into the past and into the future and the question of what remains of oneself when one leaves everything outside. A scratching, a clearing, a perfect transition, then again a break. The spontaneity of the recordings and the acceptance of the coincidences show one thing above all: it is the breaks in which one recognizes oneself. At least that is his story, you need to pencil in the rest.
